An epic adventure (Scratch/Svea/open) « Thread Started on Oct 20, 2009, 4:05pm »
A light haired boy was standing on the beach, staring out into the water. Every once in a while he would reach down and pick up a shell from the groun beneath him, hold it in his hand for a few seconds, then toss it out into the water. He would watch the ripples in the water for a while, then repeat the process all over again. The boy obviously didn't have much to do. It was a friday night, yet he wasn't out with his friends or at some wild part. He was here at the shore by himself, feeling ungodly lonely.

Svea shivered, as she walked along the shore of the beach. It was pretty cold out right now, not gonna lie. She was bored out of her mind, and hadn't had anything to do tonight. She shivered again, then looked up at the sky. It was still too light to see the moon, but it'd be getting there soon. She hadn't really been paying attention and kind of wondered if tonight the moon would be full...

The boy had been continuing his ritual peacefully until he heard a noise somewhere behind him. He turned his head to see a girl walking along the beach. It was unusual to see someone else here at this time of night. He came here almost every friday to watch the sunset, and he had never met anyone else here. He continued to stare at the girl without meaning to, he couldn't help it, he was so amused by the fact that there was another person here! The blond haired boy didn't even think about how creeped out the girl may be if she noticed he was staring.

Svea wasn't really paying attention at first, but then she realized that a guy a couple feet ahead of her was staring at her. She was a little sketched out, but she smiled faintly, and raised her hand, waving it a little bit, nervously. She continued to walk along the beach, not wanting to stop just because he was staring at her....

The boy let his eyes continue to follow the strange girl until she smiled at him and waved. He gave a nervous smile back, then quickly turned around. He didn't even notice a small blush crawling along his face, he just stared out into the ocean and tapped his fingers against his pants nervously. He wanted to go and make friends with the girl, but the poor blond boy was never good at making friends whatsoever. He wasn't a people person, and didn't know what he could do just to not be lonely anymore. He picked up another shell and tossed it as far as he could into the ocean. It made a loud noise as it splashed into the water, causing a little water to come back and smack the blond boy on the chest.

For some reason, Svea found this boy kind of interesting....she had no idea why. She got some kind of vibe from him, that made her feel like they were in some way connected, but she really didn't recognize him all that well. In spite of that, curiosity got the better of her, and she sped up a little bit, to get closer to him quicker. She was kind of scared to, but she greeted him anyways, "Hi..." she said, shyly.

The blond haired boy jumped when he heard a noise suddenly right next to him. He turned to look and found himself face to face with the girl that had been walking by earlier. The boy stared wide-eyed at her, wondering if he had the ability to grant his own wishes. He was, after all, a wish-fulfilling cat. "Umm...hello..." he muttered nervously, suddenly bringing his eyes to look down. He chewed on his bottom lip and another blush crossed over his face. He realized that he had seen this girl before, she must have been in Olivine as well. He didn't quite recall her name though, if he had even heard it before.

Svea saw that the boy was nervous...she wished she could make it less nervous for him! "I'm Svea Night....and you are?" she asked him. Maybe if they knew each others names, then he wouldn't feel as awkward! She was pretty sure that she'd seen this boy around. She also was pretty sure that he was in Olivine....but she really didn't know him that well, she didn't even know his name....

"I-I'm J-Justin." he stammered, his voice cracking as he spoke. Realizing that his voice crack so the girl probably couldn't understand him, he took a deap breath and repeated his name. "Justin McKnight." He wanted to say more, but he had such a hard time speaking to other people. He wasn't used to them, and poor little Justin just didn't feel loved. People tended to dislike him. Hell, his mother walked out on his family after his little sister was born. On top of all of that, he could feel his blush getting deeper. Svea probably thought he was a freak.

Trying to encourage him not to be scared of her, and make him feel a little better, Svea smiled at him and said "Nice to meet you, Justin." Whenever she talked to people, it was kind of difficult at first, but then eventually it got easier...but after she announced her name, it was easy to feel comfortable around Justin! How strange....

It was so odd to hear himself be called Justin. Though he loved his name, no one ever seemed to call him Justin. One day, someone just started to call him 'Scratch', and it seemed to stick. Even after introducing himself as Justin, people would figure out his nickname was Scratch and that's what they would call him. Even some of the teachers did it. "Uhh....You c-can call me S-Scratch, if you w-want. E-Everyone else d-does." He knew he sounded completely stupid, and it made him feel horrible. WHy did he wish to even talk to this person anyway?

"Okay then, Scratch.." Svea said. Damn it -_- he was still all nervous and shy like. "What's up? What brings you here on this fine, fine night?" she said. She tried to make herself sound stupid so that maybe Scratch would feel better, and would be less scared of her! He seemed so scared, and she felt kind of bad about it. She would've just walked away, but she didn't want to make things worse...

"Oh..I um...I'm just watching the uhh...the sunset..." he said. Though it was a complete truth, Scratch knew it sounded like he was up to something or something like that. He was just not good with people. He wasn't like his little sister, he wasn't a people person. Scratch turned his head to look back at the ocean. The sun was just now setting, and the color spread over the water was beautiful. He was here every week to watch the sunset, yet it never got old. Scratch was always amazed by how wonderful life could be.
